Stephanie Shields, CPE, is a highly regarded electrologist, laser specialist, educator, and industry advocate with over two decades of experience in permanent hair removal. She has been a laser specialist since 2003 and an electrologist since 2004. Stephanie is the co-owner of Zap Master Electrology, a seven-station electrology school in Washington state, specializing in all modalities of electrolysis. Her expertise spans education, clinical practice, and business development in the field of hair removal.
As the co-founder of the Electrology Education Coalition (E2C), Stephanie is committed to elevating professional standards and advancing education in the electrology industry. She leads weekly mentorship programs, research initiatives, and continued education courses, ensuring practitioners stay at the forefront of industry advancements.
Stephanie is widely recognized for her work in gender-affirming electrolysis and is a strong advocate for integrating electrolysis into comprehensive care models. She has worked extensively with medical professionals and organizations to support inclusive and effective hair removal treatments for transgender and gender-expansive individuals.
In 2025, Stephanie launched the SHIELDS Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting electrology students through tuition assistance and student housing programs. The foundation aims to remove financial and housing barriers, ensuring that future electrologists have access to the resources they need to succeed in their education and careers.
A dynamic speaker and educator, Stephanie presents on topics including business scalability, advanced electrolysis techniques, clinical best practices, and the intersection of electrolysis and laser technology. At the Society of Clinical and Medical Hair Removal (SCMHR) event, she will be speaking on Business Scalability for the Electrology Practice, sharing actionable strategies for practitioners to expand their businesses efficiently and sustainably.
