SUMMARY:Sexual Orientation & Transgender ID Discrimination In the Workplace: Employer Obligations & Proactive Practices
DESCRIPTION:For most of us\, work is stressful in and of itself.  Imagine carrying the added emotional weight of having to deny or suppress one of the most fundamental aspects of who you are – your gender identity and sexual orientation – because either one does not conform with society’s norms regarding gender expression. An historic Supreme Court ruling in 2020 outlawed workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.  The court’s ruling immediately prohibited sexual orientation discrimination nationwide for employers with 15 or more employees. Part 2 of the webinar\, we will hear from SCMHR Past President\, William Moore\, who played an important role in the historic Supreme Court ruling in 2020.

SUMMARY:All That Blazing Light - Laser Physics & Safety
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Petrane Reddick MA\, LSO\, CME\, CCE\, LE\, FS\n  \n  \nThis presentation is intended to delve into the Physics behind lasers and uncover the effects of Light used in Hair Removal Treatments. Participants will gain more understanding of how light of a particular wavelength gets absorbed and causes damage to the tissue. We will discuss the principle of Selective Photo Thermolysis and see how much depth of penetration affects the outcome of the treatment. \n  \n  \n  \nIn explaining the theories involved in the operation of the Laser devices the use of visuals will help deliver a relationship of the Laser Parameters. There are so many factors involved in helping to ensure the best possible outcome for the treatment. It is necessary that we understand principles such as characteristics of light\, depth of penetration\, light tissue interaction and selecting the right laser for each skin type. All this will be covered in addition to the safe use of lasers. \n
